Next up at Artlot is artist Jason Dunne. We move in an arguably progressive manner, from the zoomorphic ape like figures of our previous resident artist, Sandra Davoren, to the more human sculptural photographs produced by Jason Dunne. Dunne’s cut-outs, combine photographic images of both male and female nude figures with sculptural detritus (both found and produced by the artist). These sculptural forms are displayed in various assemblages creating a sort of mise en scène.
Jason’s residency at Artlot will explore ways of exhibiting his enigmatic work in the harsh environment of this outdoor space. While his work seems to be a step forward in the Darwinian evolutionary chart it could arguably signal man’s further fall.
